Quality Concepts
Pork is a delicious meat, but it must be reliable and safe. Pork consumers and buyers agree on this. But they have very different shopping lists.
VION therefore has four different product and production concepts. These concepts allow us to apply these various to the characteristics of the pigs, the feed, the housing and/or the environmental effects.
Good Farming Global
Good Farming Global is aimed at worldwide markets. The meat meets the specific requirements of countries such as South Korea and Japan.
Good Farming Retail
Good Farming Retail is aimed at the market for pre-packed meat in Dutch supermarkets.
Good Farming Welfare
Good Farming Welfare is aimed at the British bacon and fresh meat market. This programme imposes additional requirements, among others the ability to produce perfect bacon.
Good Faming Organic
Good Farming Organic is the production concept within which organic pork is produced. This meat complies with all the requirements and regulations for organic production methods.
Beef
Cattle are not farmed according to concepts such as these. There are however quality programmes in which the meat is sold under a particular brand name. One example is Bief Select.www.biefselect.nl
