VION Fresh Meat specialises in slaughtering, processing and selling fresh pork and beef. In the European Union VION Fresh Meat carries out approximately 7% of the cattle slaughtering and approximately 9% of the pig slaughtering. The slaughtering and processing activities take place mainly in Germany and the Netherlands.
The activities of the division are divided over 5 business units: North, South, Südfleisch, West and International. This enables VION Fresh Meat to optimally gear its activities to the heterogeneous regional markets in the Netherlands and Germany and to other international markets. The Australian company Tatiara (lamb) is part of the International business unit. The VION Fresh Meat division employs 6,500 people and has a turnover of €5.1 billion.
VION Fresh Meat West is part of the VION Fresh Meat division and specialises in the processing of high-quality pork and beef products. VION Fresh Meat West is the market leader in the Netherlands.

VION Fresh Meat supplies products that meet the quality requirements of consumers and society. At VION Fresh Meat we bring supply and demand together. Flagging up, analysing and interpreting developments from and to stakeholders within and outside the meat sector is an important task. VION Fresh Meat attaches great importance to open communication and a close relationship with its suppliers.
VION Fresh Meat West supplies customer-specific products and innovative concepts to the retail, industrial and food service markets. Our customers are located in the Netherlands, but also elsewhere in Europe such as in Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy and Greece. Our products also go to countries outside the European Union, such as South Korea, Japan and the USA.
