Distribution

Meat has to be kept in cold storage at all time. The refrigeration chain is one of the most important parts of meat distribution, requiring special attention. Optimum meat quality can only be preserved at the right temperatures.

The temperature of the meat is not allowed to go above 7° C during handling and processing. Carcasses, cuts of meat and meat products are loaded in an air-conditioned (cold) environment. Lorries are also refrigerated. All necessary steps are taken to maintain the temperature in the refrigeration chain at 4° C. Lorries' cooling systems are already running before loading, and will stay on throughout the entire journey. The temperature can be monitored by the driver from his cab.
The distibution of our meat for the Dutch retail organizations is carried out by our distribution partner  Distrifresh. Around 1,000 supermarkets are supplied with meat through a dense distribution network. Meat distribution is combined with the distribution of other fresh products. This reduces the burden on the environment, and also the number of vehicles out on the road.
Our closed refrigeration chain ensures that at no point during transit does the meat come into contact with warm outside air. This way, optimum microbial quality is ensured.

Packaging
We deliver our pork in the most modern consumer packaging, such as the so-called atmosphere packs. This is transparent leak-proof packaging. The meat is hermetically sealed in the packaging in a special air composition (atmosphere). This ensures it remains at a bacteriologically optimal quality level and keeps longer.
